What if you saved tracks from itunes to a dvd? would that play in a standard cd player

is it correct that a cd is 0.6gb and a dvd 4.6gb?

The answer to the first question is that coverting to AAC will not prevent you from burning a CD and playing it on coventional CD players. However, CD players over about four years old may experience play-back problems although this has nothing to do with the AAC format. My Technics player does not like some of my home burnt CDs but will play others quite ok. When I queried this with Technics they said they would expect difficulties with any player over about four years old playing self burnt discs. Can't help with the rest of your questions. You need someone more technically capable to answer them.

1) a normal audio cd player will not play aac files. they'll play normal audioCD CDs, and some will play CDs with mp3 files on them (some, definitely not most). iTunes lets you burn aac files as an audioCD though, but you wont get the same compression as you would with aac, so you wont fit as much on the disc.

2) CD players can play normal CDs and many can play finalised CD-R discs. Many can not play CD-RW discs, but some can. No CD players can play any sort of DVDs, unless they have that capability (most don't).

3) CDs can store about 800MB, which is about 0.8GB. a dvd says on the front it can store 4.6GB, but in reality it's usually closer to 4.3GB.
