Free Shred utility

Can anyone recommend a free recycle bin shred utility? I tried Zilla Data Nuker. When you download it you get Zango Adware, but if you uninstall Zango, Zilla Data Nuker still works.

The major flaw with Zilla Data Nuker is that if you choose to shred a shortcut, the program actually shreds the file to which the shortcut refers and leaves the shortcut behind.
