Wireless Connectivity...?

I have a Packard Bell Notepad R4622 laptop with wireless connectivity...was I would like to know is if I can use any wireless router or do I have to buy a specific one for my laptop. I currently looking at a Belkin one...is this any good?
Any recommedations would be welcome.

I bought a Belkin wireless router to set up a network to the kids laptops and would not recomend it to anyone, it cannot transmit through stone or brick walls with any signal strength.

I ended up ripping up all the floorboards and putting in a proper wired network to the bedrooms.

Belkin say it works OK through stud walls !!!

Your laptop has Wifi, also known as 802.11b/g. Virtually all commercially available wireless routers will be compatible with this.

As PhilLew found out, they won't transmit through solid brick walls very well, but in a regular domestic environment, they'll be fine. Belkin, Netgear, Linksys and Buffalo are names that spring to mind, all are good.

Don't be tempted to pay extra for some "fast" router, these rely on having matching equipment at both the router and computer end whereas you already have the computer end of things.
