Going to bed - hope it's sorted in the morning.
I'm a NTL 10MB Broadband user and I am finding an awful lot of the www has gone misssing........ including ebay! I don't know what is happening but it feels pretty heavy and I presume there must be a lot of people working very hard to resolve this!
My business is 100% reliant on the net and tonights problems will certainly cost me money, if this is a global problem I shudder to think how much it is costing on whole .............. fingers crossed it is resolved sooner than later.
Blyss - this from V21 (maybe others use the sam external servers?):-
This morning a problem was identified with the ability of customers to browse on ADSL; this issue only affects customers who are attempting to connect anew from yesterday evening, users already online will be unaffected.
This problem has been identfied with the network external to our own. As users connect, they should be assigned details unique to their connection (such as IP address, gateway addresses and DNS server addresses) from ourselves; however currently the DNS servers being assigned to ADSL users are not our own but those of a third party.
A work around is being put into place currently by BT which should allow all customers reconnecting after 10am to browse correctly - this problem will be fully resolved later today.
We apologise for any inconvenience this problem may have caused.
