Not sure of what context you are using this term in ? In most cases Metrics simply means measurement. So if for example you were talking about a computer system then you could provide metrics each month as to how well that system was performing. They could be compared with other months figures to gauge how well that system was performing. What sort of metrics you provide depends on what you are trying to measure.
