Help needed with a wireless connection

Hi all,
I recently bought a Toshiba laptop which is wireless enabled and i'm really confused as to what else I need to buy so that I can go wireless.
I already have a broadband connection (tiscali) and use a usb modem, I'd also like to spend as little money as possible :)
Any help would be grealy appreciated, thank you in advance,

u just need a good firewall

next thing u need to do is set up i wood call a pc man for this if you dont no what ur doing and thats it

ps u may need a pc route traffic through the modem and the pc i dont no what u have so i can not say but that what you need

It is simple if you take a deep breath and go steady.

You just need a wireless router. I have Linksys and found it very easy to set up.

You plug it in to your broadband modem and a plug socket. It should come with all the instructions you need.

It works as a transmitter, sending the signal out which is picked up by the wi-fi card in your laptop (like an aerial).

I recommend linksys because it has a wonderful on-line netassistant that makes it very easy to configure for high security.

Expect to pay �30 - �60.

@bex@, is your Ticali connection through your phone socket, or is it cable?If it is cable, you just need a wireless router, but if it is through your phone, you will most likely need a wireless router with a built in modem because your Tiscali Modem is probably a USB one.You can buy one for around �40-�50.Linksys, Netgear, and Belkin seem to be the best value for money.
