hi all need advice. i use a windows media 10 player to listen to cds whilst on pc,this morning put cd in it started playing the music ok but cant hear the lyrics properly they are very faint in the background have tried to correct it but with no joy any ideas
The easiest solution would seem to be to ditch WMP (It's always been pathetic and version 10 seems to be worse than ever).
The media player which is most frequently recommended by regular contributors to the I&T section of AB is VLC. It's free and available here: http://www.videolan.org/
I really like Windows' effort. I've tried Winamp and foobar (and probably others) but always go back to WMP.
Not having an iPod, I've never had any reason to use iTunes.
Just as a sidenote, Stevie: iTunes doesn't have to be used with an iPod. The iPod is geared to be used with iTunes, but iTunes itself functions quite happily as a music organiser and player all on its own.
I know, but if I'm happily using WMP and don't have an iPod, I'll not have had any reason to use iTunes. That's all I meant.
I might try it but I really am happy with WMP - I think it's great! haha
Done it again!!! Forgot to add something. From the sounds of things it could very well be the "Sounds..." in the control panel that need fixing.
Click Start > Run and paste in :
sndvol32
then click OK. Under "Options > Properties" I'd tick everything in the "Show the following volume controls".
Have WMP play some music *on a CD* and have a look at the main "Volume Control" and the "CD Audio" controls. Mess about with the volume levels of them all to see if anything improves. I'd try this first as it may be your solution.
