Hi again, have posted a few questions on this topic but so far had no joy.

vehelpfulguy, your last solution you gave me was to boot from disk, and choose D to delete partitions. Unfortunately this is all i get;

  • To set up windows xp now, press ENTER

  • To repair a windows xp installation using recovery console, press R

  • To quit setup without installing windows xp, press F3

What can i do from here?

Thanks again

This is one of many sites offering advice.

As fender says, press enter here.

This will then give you the chance to press D to delete all your existing partitions

Then create a new one and format it NTFS.

Are we going to get a new question every time you get to a new window on the install ?

Not sure how you will handle the question about networking then :-)

For the networking question just choose standard options.

Sorry vehelpfulguy but i am no expert in computers being female and having other priorities (2yr old hypo boy) might be part of that! lol...

Well, i have tried that and it seems to have allowed me to delete the other partitions and format and install on C finally! I only had 1 problem after it installed in that it asked me to login and it said i could not be logged on. I did try with my old password but i got the same thing.. I can't get past this now, would i have to re-install xp again?

Anyway, i am grateful for all your help and yes, if needs be i will continue to ask questions that i require answers to, after all that's what this site is for.
