I recently installed a newer version of windows XP over my old DELL installation. it works fine, but only problem is, it has one leftover button when i click the start button. this is called 'Dell Solution Center'. When its clicked it cannot find the file it is ment to open. this is because it was deleted in the re-install. I would like to know how to remove this dam pointless button from my start menu. Thanks in advance, Matt

try right clicking and selecting delete

Right-click the Start Menu and choose Properties

Click Start Menu tab → CustomizeAdvanced tab

In the 'Start Menu items' list, uncheck Manufacturer Link option

Click OK, and OK.

no option to delete, and the manurfactureres link doesnt exist in the advanced menu

I presume you have tried uninstalling the app through the Control Panel and failed.

I also presume you have upgraded to XP SP2, so even if the link was intact DSC still would not run.

Perhaps reinstalling the app (download here) and then unistalling will remove all traces.
