Is there anything broadcast these days for engineers to set up picture etc on TVs

dont think so as most,if not all, modern tv's are auto-tuning

A live news broadcast. Channel 4 in our area if you want to set up colour saturation, contrast and brightness.

why ? please explain how a news prog allows perfect set-up of all picture parameters.

When the guy came to tune in our Channel 5 he had a portable device, about the size of a lunchbox that brodcast a signal to test.
