Keyboard symbol help

What can the keyboard symbol # be used for? Is there any know user guide to implementing keyboard symbols?

I assume you mean what is a practical use for it? I know the Yanks use it to signify the word "number" as in #6 meaning "number 6". Also it's used by programmers in languages for various reasons (depending on the language...)

I work for a doctor and here we use the # symbol to indicate a fracture. Example - # hip. Meaning the patient has sustained a hip fracture.!
