Help re screensaver please.

First of all, I want to appologise if my technical lingo is wrong. Not my fault it`s all double dutch to me.
I downloaded some images ages ago which were on the screen when I turned on computer(after logging in). It`s always there on the left side over another pic. The only time it`s NOT there is when I delete temp files & cookies. But then there are outlines of the pic with little red crosses on the screen. How can I get rid of it please. Hope I`ve made sense to someone. Lol

I am not sure I fully understand your problem, but you can try to sort out the picture shown on your desktop as follows.

Right click on an empty area of your desktop and you will get a small menu.

From the menu select Properties and a window is displayed.

From this window select the Desktop tab.

This is where you control which pictures appear on your desktop.

Try selecting a desktop background of None and press OK and see if that helps. That will remove all pictures from the background.

Another option is that you may have set the desktop to be an active desktop so it displays content from the web.

Follow my earlier instructions, and on the Desktop tab select the Customize Desktop button at the bottom.

On the window that is displayed select the Web tab.

This lists web items that are displayed on your desktop.

If there are items in the list select them and delete them.

The only one you cannot delete is My Current Home page but just make sure there is no tick against it.

That should clear items from your desktop.
