PAYG dial up
6 Answers
I've a recently deceased laptop running Win98SE that has some important stuff on it but it only opens in safe mode but I've established I can get a dial up connection even with the minimal capabilities that 'safe mode' offers.
I need to use a pay as you go dial up connection to download a driver for a pen drive so I can put all my bumpf on it. Can anyone recommend one, only going to need it for about 10 mins to download the driver?

Thanks fender, if I just put the WIN98 disc in will it sort itself out do you think?
I dont know whats wrong with it - Ive trawled the web and I believe the techie term is that it Hangs??
It gets to the opening screen with the Windows98 logo and then goes no further. M$ dont have support for Win98 anymore - dont blame them really!!
Probably beyond economical repair, Ive just brought a new laptop anyway but would like to get my stuff off of the old one - its only about 100MB of bumpf I want to transfer - nothing vital but lots of tunes etc that wont fit on a floppybugger!

I would recommend flash drives by TRUST or MSI...but reinstalling win98 over should reinstall all vital files and it should boot normally, unless the reason it hangs is due to the fact it might have been infected by a nasty virus, the reason a PC hangs is that it cannot complete the normal boot process, ussally as one of the boot up files is missing or corrupt. Reinstall win98 over the top and like I said it should clear the problem :)
