I have 2 old PCs which were passed to me - However I have 2 Windows Disks and 2 manuals and have no idea which belongs to which.

I know Microsoft are incredibly picky - will it cause problems if I use the "wrong" one?

Unlikely, just don't use the same one twice. Anyway, if it does cause a problem, you then know which is which.

Unless it's XP, which does 'associate' a particular copy to a particular computer. But again, if anything complains, you then know to use the other serial.
