While I am by no means an expert in this field I imagine that if the website is experiencing a lot of usage this will slow it down, and this, among a myriad of other causes, could be what is happening. It could also be caused by malicious scripts either on the website (unlikely with hotmail? Thats another, very long story!) or on you pc. Run your antivirus software after updating the dats to make sure your pc is clean. Is this an ongoing situation or intermittent? It might be worth contacting the online help for advice. They know more about their websites than us. How often do you power off your machine? I have found (this has happened to me) that shutting down and restarting can help. It gives windows (I am assuming you are running windows) the chance to dump temporary files and start fresh. Manually clean out your temporary files. Go into my computer, right click on the drive and select properties from the drop-down menu. Click disc cleanup and follow the instructions. This will clean your temporary files and may help. Also empty your deleted items folder. This shouldnt really have any effect on you online browsing, but windows is a funny old thing, (Bill wont like that!) and it is surprising what a good clean out can achieve! Post back if none of these work and I will try to help further. Post back if it does work, as it will help others with similar troubles.
