Hello

I'm sure this has been posted before and sorry for my complete and utter ignorance but I'm having major difficulty in finding out the best wirless connection for my laptop.

I've just joined Talk Talk and have been given an ADSL modem which is connected to my laptop via USB. I want to get wireless connection but have been offered conflicting advice from those wonderful people in the technical stores on Tottenham Court Road.

I'm interested in Belkin but get confused by words like routers etc...

Can anyone recommend the right connection and wireless accessory?

Thanks

You need any ADSL router and either a laptop wifi card or a wi-fi dongle that fits into your usb.

You can buy the two as a package which ensures compatability.

Hook your ADSL modem to the router, so that it sends the signal.

Make your laptop wifi compatible by putting the card or dongle in and away you go.

Your laptop may already be wifi in which case you need only buy the router.
Swift02 - as Ethel says but I think she means a modem/router combined (most routers won't take your USB modem).
