ipod???

I believe what i want to buy is an ipod?! i really am quite ignorant with technology so wonder if someone can offer their expertise.........
I use my digital camera and download onto computer but want to make a 'photo album' of all my pics that will fit in my handbag - am i right in thinking that an ipod will do this? Also i could show friends short videos of my family? and also i could use it to listen to music i store on it? what specification/make/model would be suitable? sorry for appearing so ignorant!!

Yes, that's what you're probably after. Primarily the iPod is a music player, but the latest version also lets you play videos on it as well as put photo slideshows on it. You want this one, the regular iPod (not nano or shuffle). Whether you choose the 30GB or 60GB model is up to you: the 60GB will do nothing more but store twice as much stuff on it.
