msn messenger log in

everytime i try to put my password in in msn messenger it changes. my password is 7characters but when i press log in there are only 6 characters. i tried different accounts on my pc and it happens to them as well. I am ok to use windows messenger, i log in ok on that one but i prefer msn as it gives me my emails as well. Has anyone got any idea how to rectify this problem? I would really appreciate it. My MSN shortens my password as well...but I can still sign in fine...I think it's just to make your password more secure...so people don't really get a chance to see how long your password really is.

If you can still sign in then just leave it because it doesn't really matter...it's just helping your account stay secure.

yep it's as ace says. if password was the name of your dog and it had 7 letters some one who knows you could guess that you used it as your password. so it changes it.
