laptop to tv cable?
3 Answers
I have a laptop and the only visual out is the monitor cable port.
Does anybody know if there is monitor to tv cable (ie s-video or the red, white and yellow thingy), if so where can i get one from?

Please note I am not recommending that particular cable, or that seller. I am only trying to determine the sort of cable you are looking for and giving an example.

AVerMedia do a range, I've used the 100 and it does the job. http://www.averm.co.uk/avermedia/aver/products _computertv.asp?show=6
The key costs around 40 and the 100 around 55 - I only had a quick look, so you may find them cheaper!

You need to buy a device to convert the signal to the appropriate format. Maplin Electronics sell such a device for 39.99. It plugs into the monitor output (to receive the signal) and a USB port (for power). It has both S-Video and composite video (your 'red, white & yellow thingy') outputs:
