webpage symbol

i have a J instead of a £ symbol on webpages, does anybody know what this is and how to get rid of it, ive tried all the options in regional and language settings but get no joy???????????????

Assuming you're using Internet Explorer (WHY?), try changing the default display fonts. (Tools > Internet Options > General > Fonts).

Better, switch to a decent browser: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
