Adobe illustrator help
5 Answers
I am quite new to Adobe illustrator. I am in the process of updating my website and basically need to transfer image/logo from business card (which was produced by a professional printing company) to my website. The trouble is when I scan business card in and open image in illustrator it has approximately quadrupled in size which means I must re-size image, causing horrible pixelated effect. Can anyone help? Is there a way of scanning directly in to illustrator keeping the size that I see on screen the same size as that on business card?
Thanks

I had business cards printed quite a while ago and I basically want to have the image as it appears on the business card on the website. The trouble is when I scan the image in it appears much bigger than on original therefore when transferring it to the website it basically takes up the whole page?! It is a black and white image. Any ideas?
You need to reduce the resolution then.
First, size the image to the size you want in illustrator, then go to File->Export and choose jpeg from 'Save as type' drop down list.
For a website, you'll probably want about 75dpi.
Unfortunately, with scanning you always get pixelation.
Your only other option is to manually draw round the logo, getting a smooth object, then size and save it as above.
