Best broadband provider in the UK?

Can anyone reccommend a broadband provider in the UK please?

Anyone but talk talk, i'de like to use someone who when you call them picks the phone up within 45mins, doesn't cut you off and has call centres in the UK!

Although i think most people will be anti, AOL is the best provider at this time for the UK in my opinion. The customer support is truely excellent, no waits and they get straight to the task at hand, unlimited broadband, unlike most providers which claim to be unlimited but actually bump up the price if you use it extensivly, and reasonable prices for the connection speeds which you gain.

Telewest blueyonder. No problems whatsover.

I was on AOLfor years but got sick to death of the useless call centres which are based in India.

The staff were perfectly pleasant and polite but hopeless.

No complaints with NTL, suppose it's no good unless you have cable though

Blueyonder no question, the aftersales service is superb and speedy, also i've heard nothing but complaints from people trying to move away from AOL

Cable is good. AOL are spectacularly bad.

All the others are somewhere in between but none as quite as bad as AOL :-)

visit adsl guide......they have a top providers list compiled by users votes.

nildram or eclipse are usually number 1.

I strongly agree with Amadaeus. I have had AOL for just over 7 months now and no problems at all. I too have heard a lot about how bad AOL are but I have no idea why. As for AOL's customer service, if you cant stand it because the call centres are in India, you can very easily chat to AOL over the internet (This is probably better than talking on the phone anyway as their answers are still written down when they have gone.)

Like some of the others, i'm an ex aol, been with Telewest Blueyonder since it started, and no problems at all, in fact, its one of 'Computing Which' best buys.

buy a hosting account with Fasthosts.co.uk...once the account is active, you can supply YOURSELF with broadband over a BT line...you control the account, speed, everything...and no limits on anything!!! And it's cheaper than BT, NTL and telewest

Another thumbs up to Telewest. If you have cable in your area, I would suggest you look into their phone and broadband package. NTL are basically the same thing too.

Regular telephone line broadband: I've had hardly any problems with Tiscali. Many have, though, but this applies to pretty much all the providers I think.

I have been using NTL for 4 years now, without any problems.I currently have their 10MB Connection, but it is not cheap (�34.99).

I'm with NTL and have had no end of problems. Even when there's a fault at their end they force you to call them on a premium rate number and take ages to answer. I guess every provider will have some happy and some not-so-happy customers.

o9roberts,I have been on AOL Broadband for about four years now and before then on dialup yes there are teethin problems on any ISP but I still recommendAOL as you can as already stated talk to there tech people via computer maybe in India,but you are not paying for the call it's all in your AOL package.
