Windows Messenger Live!
7 Answers
Has anyone else downloaded the new Windows Messenger Live! ? It's the worst thing I could have possibly done and now I can't restore far enough back to get rid of it! It replaces MSN Messenger 7.5 and so I can't choose between the two as I don't have the option! My PC continually crashes or freezes now too - never did it before.. Does anyone know if I can re-download MSN Messenger 7.5 to overwrite it? Poxy Microsoft! When are they ever gonna get it right?

I have Windows Messenger Live and no problems. if you cant get on with it, you should be able to download 7.5 somewhere but I should try a fresh download of Live first, you will eventually need the latest version, 7.5 will just stop working when out dated.
Yep - fully up to date and clean as a whistle! I signed up for the beta program a couple of months ago, so automatically downloaded it when I was emailed by Microsoft to let me know it was available. I should have thought about it first.. I'd rather keep the 7.5 until I have no choice and let the teething problems get ironed out first, like I usually do with everything else. The problem is, if I uninstall and reinstall a clean download of the Live! version, I'm gonna have to start again from scratch with all my personalisations etc. At least the Live! left all that alone. DOH I just wondered if I could redownload 7.5 to overwrite it - although I really know the answer is no. Thanks for your help anyway - if you know anything more, please let me know. Numan
if you can't find messenger 7.5 there's a free download here

Er.. I didn't say my contacts, I said my personalisations! As in Messenger Plus! 3 personal sound notifications etc., etc. which I had recorded individually for at least 46 people - to name just one thing! Anyway, I've got rid of the ****** now and am, as we speak, in the process of re-doing it all. I should finish before I get to bed I suppose.. At least I'm happy that the Live! **** has gone! Ta all
