Do you always end up helping the Help Line ?

I used to ring up a Telewest Phone Number just to check the Internet Connection Status when I could not connect. Now I get diverted to a NTL number then a series of options then to support persons who have strong accents, speak too fast and totally lack communication skills because they work to a fixed menu. If you ask if the Email System is down in my area instead of YES or NO answer you get asked for your MAC Number, your IPCONFIG etc..etc... When I rang SKY recently to ask why I was not receiving the Discovery Channel I was taken through a MENU of questions asking if I was Married?Single?Divorced? When I asked why guess what it was a menu they go through. Whats it all about ?

It drives me mad - especially when I want a quick answer to a very general question, I am paying for the phone call and it takes an age just to get someone to speak to me.
