Instead of buying a monitor for that server why not buy a KVM switch

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KVM_switch

A KVM allows you to switch your Keyboard, Video and Mouse (hence KVM) between multiple machines.

For the few times you need to be on the server switch from your normal monitor with the KVM, then when you have finished switch back to your "normal" PC.
Instead of a KVM switch, you could install some remote desktop software so you could just connect to it over the network.

Something like VNC :

In fact if you are using XP Professional on your "main" PC you can use Remote Desktop Connection (part of Windows) to look at the server box.
Check out Maplin, Aria, Novatech and Dabs or even Amazon?
Just got an email from Savastore (Watford) in their sale for this:-

However, if you want a CRT rather than LCD, there are several from about 25 in adverts in the weekly Micro Mart magazine.
Hi Rich
If you haven't been successful as of today's date (1.54 pm) I do have a DELL CRT monitor you can have for nothing. The only problem is it is a 17", although a 15" TFT is apparently the same screen size as a 17" CRT. Also, you would need to collect it. Anyway, it's here if you are interested.
