( this was last year, im not sure how much prices have vaired now ) but my mp3 player was a Goodmans. I love it. holds 700 songs of mine... but as i said, ipod has the bigger name, and the new nano you have to say looks very cool.
The 60GB iPod can hold up to 15,000 songs, so your mp3 player must be huge! It can also play any video when converted to MPEG4 format using free software. I have a few thousand songs, a couple of hundred music videos, 2 series of TV Programmes and a film on mine and it is little over half full.
Fork out for the iPod, you won't regret it.

jp_2031, you are right - you can view photos on it too. I have a selection from my wedding and have shown them to a few people much in the way you show them pictures you have taken on your phone - except the screen is MUCH higher resolution, like a mini TV, very sharp. With a single cable you can use the iPod to show your photos as a slideshow on your home TV, to any of your music, with transitions.
The iPod also holds all your contacts, calendars, notes and has 4 games built in.
