Photo editing software?
8 Answers
Hi, apologies in advance if I've put this in the wrong section but couldn't seem to find anywhere more appropriate!
We've just got our wedding photos back from a person who claimed to be a proffesional photographer and they're rubbish! He's done nothing but snapped and developed them and given them to us!
Money is not in abundance so soon after the wedding so I was wondering could anyone recommend a good photo editing package or software that doesn't cost the earth so we can alter them ourselves?
Cheers!

Also check if you have Microsoft Photo Editor on your machine by right-clicking on a photo and choosing 'Open With...' then Microsoft Photo Editor.

I'm happy to support Wideboy's original suggestion of Serif's Photoplus 6.0. Serif are a fantastic firm. They make the vast majority of the older editions of their software available completely free. (I can't imagine Bill Gates doing that!). What's more, it's exceptionally good.
The link now seems to be working normally:

Incidentally, photographs taken by a decent photographer (who knows about such things as depth of field and soft-focus filters) shouldn't need any manipulation anyway.

Thanks for all the answers guys! Chris, thanks for the tip lol, beleive me he wasn't a proffesional! Even though he was recommended to us by a couple recently married - don't worry though I've got my money back!
Catso, thanks for the tip - might take the very best ones from the negs to a proffesional to be done.

Thanks Len, that one is good! One the same thoughts with the photo editing - does anyone know anything that would let me remove a small section of one photo and replace it with another? I've got one piccy with a bit of confetti right over my eye at the wedding! Would like to shift it if I can that's the only photo with the confetti that we have!
Cheers!
