It sounds like you don't have an email address set up through Outlook Express.

Outlook Express isn't an email in iteself - it is an email 'client' that allows you to send and receive emails once it has been set up.

If, for example, your ISP provides you with an email, you will need to have (1) your email address ([email protected]), (2) your password provided by the ISP and (3) your pop3 and smtp addresses. These should be found on your email provider's website (in this case your ISP). They look something like

pop3.yourISP.com and smtp.yourISP.com

or they may both be

mail.yourISP.com

Write back if you need any further help!

I have had problems mailing via the "contact us " box on a web page which uses your mail client to send. Quite often my Outlook 2000 just hangs forever. Is this what you mean by sending to a web site? If so Outlook express is less sophisticated so might fail more readily.
