Hi 2243, you can connect the two directly via a scart lead. The ports should be marked as in and out on each unit.

If you press play on the video, press record on the DVD. You may be able to get more than one VHS on a DVD if you lower the record quality.
I have to set the dvd recorder to record AV2 as the channel to record from the video.
Ethel, how do you set DVD Recorder to AV2? Thanks.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you - I hope you are sorted now. :)

Anyway - I set up a manual record, rather than videoplus or such like.

Set the date, time and when it comes to channel it will display the channel it is already set at.

I have 'up and down' arrows on my dvd remote that change channel.

If you press the down arrow it will come from Channel 5 through to BBC1. If you carry on, it will show the AV channels eventually.

Be prepared to experiment. Set it to record AV for 10 minutes, and play a video that you know is recordable.

If that has not worked try EXT1, EXT2 or AV2 until it does.

Mine is actually EXT2 but many setups use AV.

Hope this helps!
