if you have a program like Nero then you can do a back up and save everything to one rw-cd. if you don't then I would suggest purchasing a 1 or a 2 gig flash drive (cheap enough from pc world or misco) put the flash drive into a usb port and open photos, highlight all and click send to flash drive. When you have your new computer then put the flash drive in a usb port and download easily to your new computer.
Emails are a different matter. If you get a gmail account you can forward your emails to that (I presume you have OE) but you would need a stepping stone and use thunderbird. (a) export emails to thunderbird (b) transfer emails from thunderbird to gmail using a free program like gmlw. Its actually quite easy to do.
I can talk you through that and also give you a gmail invite if you need one.
rezzab: what email system do you use?
Hi rezzab
I just did the same as you-bought a new computer and wanted to xfer files from the old one.
I found just the right device. It's called Genelink. If you have a spare usb port on both computers it links the 2 machines. It's a cable, simple to use and it xfers any file fast and easy-drag and drop. Well worth it.
