ajmmac, I just burned two discs using Nero Express. One was a DVD - RW, the other was a DVD +RW. Both have worked in my 7500. In the Express version there aren't as many options as in Nero Burning ROM (if you have it - it's on my other machine). In the options, just before you burn the disc, there is a tick box for DVD high compatibility. If you are using DVD +RW, there will also be another option - Book Options. I left this on 'Automatic' and it worked, there is also a DVD ROM option. Did you make sure that you told Nero that you were making a Movie DVD and not a Data DVD?

for wideboy--thank you so much for your interest and i hope u do not mind if i impose on you a little further--right--i am using nero 6 and have tried every combination of functions and settings as well as different brands of disks and still i get the 7500 message unkown disk--what brand of disks are u using?--i have a feeling i used philips b4 and they worked but i do not have any new ones to try--if it is not too much trouble perhaps u could email me details of the procedures and settings u r using to burn ur disks successfully so they play on the 7500--i would be eternally grateful--arthur

ajmmac - welcome back. The -RW disc was TDK, the +RW disc was RIDATA. Originally I didn't use NeroVision because I already had some 'video' files on my computer(VOB files taken off a DVD). These were burned by using NeroStartSmart and choosing Photo&Video, then Burn DVD files. This is when I got the different burning options.

I then realised that you might be burning avi files or similar. I've just done this using Nerovision Express 3 - SE. I choose to make DVD, then DVD Video and Add Files (to the window). Went to record onto the +RW RIDATA and it has worked OK. I didn't get the ROM options etc.

There is one option though under More and Configure - there is a tick box to 'enable all supported grecorder formats for the image recorder', but I didn't use it.

The only other thing I can think of is to burn the video to the hard disc and then see if my first method works by recognising the video as 'video' files.

If I get a chance later, I'll try that.
