Rechargeable batteries like this are rated in milliamp hours (mAh)the higher the number the longer they last, the highest I have seen in AAA is 1000mAh, there are a load of companies out there selling them just Google AAA 1000mAh and take your pick. Same goes for AA, biggest of those I've seen are 2800mAh.
aa and aaa is the size of the battery not the power, aa will not fit in your mp3

some of the lower strength batteries are not suitable for some things like a dig camera, so look out for ones aimed at them as they'll be more powerful
The best AAA rechargeable batteries out there are the Kodak batteries, currently i think they only do a 750 mah which should power your MP3 player for about 8 - 9 hours.

The maximum AAA battery is not 1000mah they go right up to 2000 mah and the highest AA battery can be anything up to 3000 mah.
