HELP! Fuji digital camera problem

Hi,
My fantastic Fuji Finepix A203 is playing me up after years of great service. The lens cover won't open and I get a warning on viewer telling me! Is there anything that I can do to repair it or is it for the wastebin?

Could it be the battery died maybe?

No, I wish that was it...........I recharged them to make sure and the other functions work. Is there a drive for the lens cover, wonder if I should start taking it apart for a look?? Thanks for reply

I had a fuji finepix (not sure of model) - sadly I dropped it tried several places each said would cost I think �80 just to send away and not worth it I tried opening to look inside by then definitely no good Hope you have better luck but doubt you will

I thought it would be too dear to repair. Maybe I will have a look inside, like you, and totally ruin it. Ha! Best get on Ebay and buy another one quick, will be lost without it.
