new pc advice

I want a new PC. I will use it for web design and graphics, so i need about a gig of ram, a decent size memory, cd and dvd burner, a v good graphics card (good enough to play doom 3 with to keep my other half happy!), a sound card and a 19" monitor at least.
can anyone recommend where to start looking as my bro sorted my last one?!! what is a good make, where is a good place to look....NOT pc world though, i don't like them!

Also think about taking a look at Apple's iMacs. They are pretty competitively-priced, and with BootCamp you can easily boot into windows easily if you need windows stuff.
