I have recently downloaded windows media player 11, each time when I try to play music the software informs me that it has encountered a problem it needs to close. Any ideas how I can ' fix ' this ?

Dunno but you can always rollback to v10

How do i roll back to v10 ?

UNINSTALL wmp 11 and install wmp 10.
