It is always best to say what OS you are using. We dont know just because you do !
Assuming XP Home
Right Click on Start Button
Left Click Explore All Users
Start Menu
Programs
StartUp
In this folder you may find what you expect but not all programs appear here that start up with the computer.
Come back if not and I will explain the other source msconfig.

sarah: that would normally be true, but the startup folder has been in the place woola gives for every single version of windows. and it's bound to be windows since no other OS uses a startup folder and calls it that.

fo3nix you are quite right ! Why have I been finding it the more complicated way for ages and telling people how to find it ? Thanks for that .
I hope you will agree that not all startup items appear there and part two of my answer may be needed.

Ooh I sparked debate. Yes I was going to say 'Which system are you using', but I figured it could only be windows, and that's the easiest route. Anyway I'm sure you've found it by now shanks!
