My PC keeps emiting this high-pitched whistling noise, it has nothing to with my speakers because when I turned them off and put headphones into the tower the same noise came out of the headphones. It only seems to do it on my area of the computer. I use windows XP. Anybody know why it is doing and how I can fix it?

What exactly do you mean by your area of the computer.

This type of noise is usually caused by an external source such as cordless phones. Move anything of this nature away from the PC and re-check.

This would, of course, affect all users and not just you, if that is what `your area' meant.

Yes, "my area" ment that it only affects me. It stopped now, but it did the same thing at around the same time yesterday.
