Can I do an ECDL course from home?

I would like to do the ECDL course from home as there is not a college nearby that does the course. Is it expensive to do this course and how would i do the exams? TIA

my local primary school ran this course free last year, altho i had the opportunity to go into the school to do the work, i choose to do most of it from home just attending another local school when i felt ready to do each of the 7 exams.
It may be worth enqiring at local schools about enrolling.
