what free backup program would people recommend? i need to backup to a DVD

you could try dvd decryptor, go to google search typ in dvd decryptor and look for a free download and its free to use

If you need a backup program I find that Nero BackitUp is very simple and reliable.
If you just want a copy of your files on a DVD you can just use the one built into Windows XP if you are using XP.

i have win xp home which has no backup facility & nerobackitup isn't free
