When ever I click on remember me when I log on to certain sites but when I return to the site its stil asking me to put in the password, why?

Because they take security more seriously than the sites that remember your ID AND your password.

Mine number 63 and every site asks for a specific password - which is why I keep a book by the computer just for them as they don't always 'remember me'.

When you ask a web site to "remember you" that info is saved in cookies on your PC.

If you delete your cookies you delete that information.

Do you delete your cookies regularly ?, or maybe have your browser set to delete cookies at the end of each session ?

If you delete your cookies as hopalong says, then it won't remember them for you. If you browse with Firefox, then it'll ask if you want it to remember passwords for that site. Some sites use different login page URIs, with a unique session ID (eBay is one of these), so it'll remember my username but not my password.

If you want a program to remember all your different passwords (I'd recommend using random passwords of at least 10 characters in length, different for each website), then use KeePass (It's totally free). I'd strongly recommend you do _not_ use cetti's suggestion of Roboform, since it's insecure.
