How can i find out whats in my computer so i can upgrade it?,i dont want to take it apart

have a look at Start . > all programmes> Accessories > System Tools > System information - this would give you a good start as to whats there.
Download a copy of Aida32 from here. It will tell you everything about practically all of the hardware in your computer.
There's a free little program called Look In My Computer which will tell you everything:

You could try belarc which is a free audit of your computer's specs and what is on it. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Aida is good too. belarc you can save the details to disc or print and it will also print your computers program registration numbers as well as details of microsoft downloads you have done -sort of the whole contents of your hard drive.

Thank u for ur answer,but will these programmes tell me what mother board,type of memory,and what type of memory i can buy to upgrade?.This is all new to me so sorry if i sound stupid!!! I want to upgrade my processor ,i currently have a pentium4 2.66 GHz,what can i buy to upgrade this.I want to make my computer faster to play,What do i need to do,I will be gratefull of any help
