CPU upgrade

I have a six year old PC with an AMD Duron 700 processor. How do I go about upgrading and generally speeding things up?

To be honest, you can only speed your existing PC up so much.
The latest CPUs will not fit in your motherboard so that is out.
You may find that more memory will help. If you have say 256Mb try going up to 512Mb for example.
But you can buy a new PC system unit (less monitor, keyboard, etc) for about 200 pounds and I think that is your best solution.
