My mobile phone wouldn't charge... bought a new battery but it still wont charge.... Has my phone had it?

not necessarily ... may be the charger ... find someone with the same phone and try it with that ... or buy a cheap in car charger to check whether phone or charger ... if you carry it in a pocket or handbag check for fluff / tissue / lint in the charger socket on the phone ... it doesnt take much to stop it working ...

Thanks pingu but I've tried a different charger and pocked around in the charger connector but still no joy

hmmmm fender perhaps I should tell you that I am female.... the type that uses the heel of a shoe as a hammer.... perhaps dismanteling my phone isn't a good idea.... would they do it in a phone shop?

Worth asking ... Carphone are really helpfull normally ... is it contract ? Had it more than a year ... if so get an upgrade ... or buy a really cheap payg till you are due one ...

O2 contract but it's up end of December... as it's so close (and I don't intend to renew) they may not change. I think the cheapie until I set up a new contract is prob the best option. Many thanks

Ok, ... in which case buy a cheap unlocked PAYG phone and put your sim straight in keeping your same number ... about 2x weeks before your contract is up ask for your PAC (porting authorisation code) from O2 and then within 1 month get new contract with someone else giving them you PAC ... this means you get to keep your number even if you go to Orange / Voda ? Tmob or Virgin ... Just dont go to 3 ! Plus, asking for your PAC generally makes companies give you a better phone on an upgrade than you would have got before !! Good luck ...
