I would remove any AOL application in add/remove programs (start-settings-control panel-add/remove programs). I would then re-install Internet Explorer (as I think AOL dumps its version on your machine). This is best done by going to the Microsoft site and getting the latest version ie IE 6 sp1 ( http://www.microsoft.com then downloads then search for internet explorer -it is probably in the top 20). If you have IE 6 sp1 already and it won't let you upgrade it then remove it using add/remove programs (see above) then update it. If you really want all traces removed then search for AOL in the registry (start-run-type regedit then OK) and delete all the keys associated with it. This is a bit of a drastic measure. Oh, and if you decide to do this backup the registry first. Another method, if you have Windows XP, would be to restore your system to a point before you installed AOL. So you are not won over by the AOL 8 adverts?
well, please don't sign up to freeserve sft becos They splatter your registry too, And they even hijack your spinning globe anigif and replace it with a FS - and it's all messy to get rid of. Whilst the isp i now use are clean and friendly; onetel. :-)
