strange emails
2 Answers
During the last fortnight, I've been receiving emails (via Yahoo) made up of hyrogliphics. My filter sends them to spam and they are destined to be deleted within a week. However I don't like the thought of them there. I'd read that you can have them blocked altogether, simply by reporting the sender, but to do that you have to open them. That is where I saw the message again in jumbled letters/numbers, with a link. I've not used the link. I did open three yesterday to block the sender, but there are 2/3 more today. What should I do ?. I think there is an option to delete on arrival all spam, but I could loose soemthing that is directed there accidently.

Try an application called Spambayse, there is an Outlook one and a Yahoo one apparently (I've only used the Outlook one) but it learns what you class as 'Spam' and 'Ham' and adapts itself.
I just review my bulk mail once every few days and if anything goes in there then tell Yahoo it's not Spam by clicking the button. Annoying and time wasting but a neccessity...

As wilsarnie suggests, it's just spam. Ignore it and carry on your day.
Finally, Thunderbird comes with its own bayesian spam filter that learns as you go, so will learn that these are junk.
