win2000 password unknown

I have been given a computer running win200 professional. Password is required to start windows in normal or safe mode. How do I proceed?

Ask the person who gave you it what the password is. Once in you can change it to your own.

Thank you bimbim - very helpful. Apparently the computer may have "Account Restrictions", which prevents me accessing it. The computer was used in my friend's business, so I'll have to ask her again to search her memory.

There is a instruction about windows password reset 7.0 as follows:
1.Free download the windows password iso: http://www.resetwindowspassword.com
2.Burn it to a disk to create the boot disk, that simple.
3.Configure your pc or laptop to boot in the cd drive,
4.Insert the CD, reboot from CD drive, and then just follow the process of instruction. A few steps later, admin password would be cleared
Took about 5 minutes for the whole process.
