web pages arent at present day

hello when i go to places such as ebay or web sites i use quite a lot when i go to the actual site i have to then refresh the page to get it up2 date or it will be on the same time and date as the last time i visited it i have to refresh everytime i go on any page any idea why this is????

The pages are cached on your machine or server. When you regularly visit the same pages, the version you looked at may be stored somewhere to enable you to load it quicker. This is called caching and hitting Ctrl and F5 should refresh it from the server

You can also instruct your browser to always get the page from the server instead of the cache but that'd slow down your browsing

You've not stated which browser you're using. If it's Internet Explorer, follow this route:
Tools > Internet Options > Temporary Internet Files > Settings.

Under 'Check for newer versions of stored pages', you''ll find 4 options. The default is 'Automatically' (although it sounds as if your system might have changed to 'Never').

If you browse websites which can change almost minute by minute, you might find 'Every visit to the page' will be best for you (but this does slow down browsing).

If, however, you check on a page just once after you've started IE, 'Every time you start Internet Explorer' might be best.

When you've made your selection, click 'OK', then 'Apply' and 'OK' again.

Experiment and see what's best for you. If you don't like the way your browser works, you can always change the settings back again.
