Er, Shazzabell, if you take a look at my answer to your previous question, I think that you might find that it mentioned having to use the 'full' URL and gave an example ;-)
Anyway, I'll try to answer the second bit of your current question. The 'bar thingy' used a form of JavaScript which has inherent problems for the security of your PC. For this reason, the developers of the Firefox browser (which is deservedly popular with AB users) decided not to support it. (i.e.those of us who use Firefox never had the 'bar thingy').
Microsoft belatedly recognised the security problem and the latest version of Internet Explorer (IE7) has followed the lead set by Firefox. (i.e. anyone buying a new PC, or updating Internet Explorer, would also find that they couldn't see the 'bar thingy').
For these reasons, AB decided to discontinue this facility. It's still possible to use italic or bold text (but not colours) but it's a bit more complicated. For full details go to the Editor's Blog and change the date (in the top right-hand corner) to June 2006. The first post ("Bye bye RTE") explains everything.
