Keep getting horizontal banding. Nozzle check shows Black cartridge at fault. Head Clean corrects it for a few pages, then it starts again. Have changed cartridge, have uninstalled then re-installed printer, but problem persists. Using lots of ink, head-cleaning all the time. What else can I do, apart from buying a new printer?

I had a c44+ untill recently and it started to do something very similar, after trying regular head cleaning I got a couple of quotes on fixing it -they were far in excess of what I orginally paid for the printer three years ago.

So I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your printer is probably deceased
