I have looked everywhere I have home movies on my laptop in idvd and i want to burn/rewrite them disk so I can play them on my dvd player. I have the software idvd which is very good in putting together a dvd for you but I have no burner/rewriter to put it on dvd.

I have an XP pc at the office so if there was an external rewriter out there which was compatible wth both mac and xp, that would be cool.. I have looked in high street stores and pc world with no look, on the web i feel I wil be buying the wrong item because I cannot talk to a assistant about compatibility.

I assume you're running Mac OS X panther or tiger?

Pretty much any one you get will just work. Ideally get one that connects via firewire, but usb2 will do just fine.
